REVERSING A SHARE DEPOSIT

(For Loan Payment Transfers see separate procedure)

1.   Print a share history showing the transaction.

2.   Access the member’s account in Program #2.

3.   Check the system date.  If the transaction is being reversed on the same date it was done proceed to step #3.  If the transaction was done on a prior date, AND there are no transactions in history since that date, you want to backdate your correction to the date of the original transaction (or as close to that date as possible if there is a backdating limit) as follows:

             1)      Access the 'Voucher Display Reprint' transactions

             2)      Use the ‘Down Arrow’ key to move the cursor to the ‘Change Posting Date’ field.

             3)      Press the ‘HOME’ key

             4)      Change the posting date to agree with the date the transaction was done.

             5)      Enter ‘Y’ to confirm the change.

4.   Use the ‘Down Arrow’ to highlight ‘Share Deposits’

5.   Choose the same transaction code that was used to do the original transaction.

6.   Enter the amount of the transaction to be reversed with a minus sign (-) before the dollar amount.

7.   If the original transaction was a transfer from another share type, enter the share type the transfer was done

      from, in the appropriate field.

8.   You will see the following message  ‘WARNING!  WITHDRAWAL?’  This message alerts you that this transaction is going to decrease the balance in the account.

9.   Press ‘F11’ to view the voucher.

10. Check to be sure the projected balance is correct and enter your Teller Password.

11. Press ‘F9’ to print the voucher and enter the transactions.

NOTE:  If you are reversing a cash deposit the transaction will result in Cash Back and will affect your cash

drawer balancing unless you are doing the same deposit to a different account number or share type.
