REOPENING A SHARE TYPE ACCOUNT

 

 

If you close a share type account in error, or determine before month-end that it should be re-opened:

 

1.   Access the member=s account in Program #2.

 

2.   Press >Home= and the >Up Arrow= to highlight >Share Deposits=.  Press >Enter= to select this transaction type.

 

3.  Enter the letter which designates the share type account to be re-opened.  >CLOSE-SHARE-TYPE= will be flashing in yellow in the bottom left corner of the screen.

 

4.  Choose transaction code #249 OS OPEN-NEW SHARE-ACCOUNT.  Press >HOME= to select this transaction.  >N/A= will appear in both the >PRIOR-SHARE-BALANCE!= and     >Enter TRANSACTION (DOLLAR) AMOUNT= fields.

 

5.  Press >F11= to view the voucher.

 

6.  >OPEN-NEW-SHARE-ACCOUNT= will be flashing and the transaction amount will be 0.00.  Enter your Teller Password to post the transaction.

 

7.  The share type is now re-opened, and will be treated the same as any other open share type.
